29: The Blues

I’m having the monday blues again.

The only blog-worthy detail of my bluesy monday is the really yummy ham and cheese sandwich from Spinelli I had for lunch today. It was unbelievably good. I had the impression that the Spinelli sandwiches were cold and soggy, ever since I had the disgustingly soggy tuna sandwich a year and a half ago. But the ham and cheese was good! I love the bread! It was warm and toasted and was really crunchy and yummy. The ham is not your ordinary ham (those really red pieces of cured meat) but it resembles turkey ham (the pale pinkish white ham). The cheese was melted and yummy. And it’s only $2! Way cheaper than those four leaves one I usually buy from the snacks stall and way way way yummier! What have I been doing the past 2 years in school?

I’m so going to be a Spinelli Ham and Cheese sandwich fan from now on.

I’m trying to save money (it’s back to $2/day) and lose some weight. I’m still eating my meals well, but I’m cutting down on unnecessary junk food. It’s killing two birds with one stone. I get to save some money and lose some weight.

And I love love corn flakes! I’m in the cornflakes craze now. I think Kellogg’s corn flakes (the plain ones, please!) are yummy!

Before I end this bluesy monday post, there’s this really nice song I’m listening to now. Marie Digby’s Miss Invisible. This song just brings me back to my JC days. Those were painful days. The darkest period of my life. But I survived with the support from my family and close friends. Those were the days when I smiled to conceal my pain.

I’m a much happier person now. I have a bunch of really lovely good friends from secondary school. They are my travel companions too! And I’ve a few nice coursemates in school (although there are times when I feel down and out). But I’m much happier 🙂

“Miss Invisible”

There’s a girl
Who sits under the bleachers
Just another day eating alone
And though she smiles
There is something just hiding
And she cant find a way to relate
She just goes unnoticed
As the crowd passes by
And she’ll pretend to be busy
When inside she just wants to cry
She’ll say…

[Chorus]
Take a little look at the life of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little closer, I really really want you to put yourself in her shoes
Take another look at the face of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little harder and maybe then you will see why she waits for the day
When you’ll ask her her name

The beginning, in the first weeks of class
She did everything to try and fit in
But the others they couldn’t seem to get past all the things that mismatched on the surface
And she would close her eyes when they left and she fell down the stairs
And the more that they joked
And the more that they screamed
She retreated to where she is now
And she’ll sing…

[Chorus]
Take a little look at the life of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little harder I really really want you to put yourself in her shoes
Take a little look at the face of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little closer and maybe then you will see why she waits for the day that you will ask her…her name

And one day just the same as the last
Just the days been in counting the time
Came a boy that sat under the bleachers just a little bit further behind…
